Guidelines:
The display should include:
- Include at least 1 large poster
- Clearly identify the name and purpose of the project/initiative (and if possible other details such as duration, membership, and future goals)
- Include a description of the issue and the solution approached by the project/initiative
- Showcase the accomplishments of the group and its impact on society (through text, pictures, handouts, etc.)
- Include a short personal reflection/statement by one of the members
- Include photographs or other evidence of service
- Be an accurate representation of the project/initiative
- Be interesting and able to attract the audience’s attention
- Have a student prepared to explain or answer questions about the project/initiative.
Tips:
- Make it attractive and easy to read! Bright colors, large font, and lots of images are a recipe for success!
- Be creative! Remember, there will be a lot of other posters – make your booth stand out! Popping out 3D words or provoking questions are just a few ideas.
- It’s not a bad idea to have a few small handouts or cards with the name, details, and motto of your group on the table in your booth.
- Have lots of pictures showing the group in action! Action and active participation is the key to community service!
- This is a chance to promote your group and show the world the fantastic community service you participate in!
- Require technology from the host school – videos and slideshows are allowed but must be displayed on personal computers brought by students
- Include inappropriate or irrelevant content or be offensive to any other project.
